Yesterday my friend asking me about the error message he got when try to connect to the Celcom wireless brodband.
“a connection to the remote computer could not be established”
I believe it occured because of firewall or misconfiguration of the connection. But my friend said, he already turn the firewall off. It must be the misconfiguration then.
I ask for my other fren of the Celcom Broadband configuration. Got the details and ask my fren with the problematic Celcom Broadband to mimic it.. Voila, it works!!!
The configuration;
1. On your desktop, there will be a mobile connect icon. Double click it to open Mobile Connect Application
2. If it ask for PIN, enter 1234 (default PIN). If not, just skip this step.
3. Go to Settings, and select Manual from the drop down list and select Celcom.
4. Then go to Settings (again), select Choose Connection Type and choose GPRS Only. (safe mode configuration,)
5. Go to Settings one more time and choose Network Connection Setting.
5.1 Click New and enter the profile name, Celcom 3G
5.2 Authentication number: *99#, User name: <leave blank>, Password: <leave blank>
5.3 DNS Settings:Dynamic
5.4 APN and additional settings: Static, APN: celcom3g
5.5 IP settings: Dynamic
5.6 Authentication Protocol: CHAP
5.7 WINS Settings: Dynamic
6. Click on Save and Ok to save the configuration.
7. Click Connect and you might start surfing.
8. If you can surf the net, then repeat step 4 and change it to 3G Preferred.
